Synchronisation in optically switched rack-scale and data centre networks
Multi-gigabit serial transceivers
Kari Clark was born and educated in Kent, UK. He graduated from the University of Warwick with a BSc MPhys degree in Physics in 2013, with 1st class honours. Seeking to transition into Electronic Engineering, he completed two industrial internships in 2014, the first of these based at Aeristech Limited, an automotive research and development company, and the second at JF Machines Limited, an industrial inkjet label printer manufacturer.
He is currently exploring the application of time and frequency synchronisation to rack and data center scale optically switched networks, under the supervision of Dr Zhixin Liu. He is the Overall Winner in 2018 Connected Nation Pioneer Copmetition.
Mr Zichuan Zhou
Graduated with the highest ranking at UCL EEE, Mr Zichuan Zhou found himself fascinated by scientific research. He first enjoyed a pleasant summer research project building semiconductor laser testing systems and is currently working on optical transmitters based on directly modulated semiconductor lasers. He is an awardee of the UCL Goldsmid Prize and is a Champion of Men's 50m rifle prone position in China.
